It's saffron time. The fields of the Navelli plain are stained purple. The flowers, now depleted of their stigmas, are thrown away, but we have learned to use them. Master soapmaker Lamberto will tell you how to prepare the oleolite from saffron petals; it is an extract rich in antioxidant substances, which you will transfer into the liquid soaps and solid soaps that you will learn to make yourself.

Saturday 4 November
9.30 am: welcome at the Convent of San Colombo (Barisciano, AQ)
10.00 am: saffron, food, medicinal, cosmetic properties
10.30 am: the use of natural soaps in light of the latest scientific research, theory of saponification
11.30 am: saffron oleolite
12.00: formulation of a solid soap for the person, with saffron, produced with the hot saponification technique
1.00 pm: lunch break. Buffet offered by the organization
2.30 pm: preparation of the ingredients and start of saponification
4.00 pm: cooking begins
6.00 pm: end of cooking, putting into the mould
6.30 pm: discussion and see you tomorrow
Sunday 5 November
9.30 am: formulation of a liquid soap, for the person, with saffron
10.30 am: preparation of the ingredients and start of saponification (massification)
12.00: end of massing and start of cooking
1.00 pm: end of cooking
1.00 pm: lunch break. Buffet offered by the organization
2.30 pm: labels: how to read them, distribution of single-dose kits
3.00 pm: “Ecological domestic laundry”
4.00 pm: cutting of the solid soap prepared the day before and distribution to the participants
5.00 pm: distribution of the liquid soap paste
6.00 pm: goodbye and thank you
The participation fee for the two days is €30 and includes: insurance, buffet lunch on the first and second day, stationery material, soaps produced during the days, kits of single-dose solid and liquid soaps offered by Terra Italica
Does not include: overnight stay.

Then send an email with the subject: “Saffron Soap Course” to the address info@terraitalica.it specifying: name, surname, origin, code of the bank transfer made, telephone number and email address for any communications. The course will be carried out regardless of the number of participants. Maximum 20 members.
